Our Service List

We offer the following services, ensuring you can trust us as your go-to crew for it all:

  • Chimney Sweeping: Harmful creosote and other types of debris buildup can trigger chimney damage and put your home and system at risk whenever a fire is lit. Regular sweepings ensure a clear passage through which fumes and smoke can escape.
  • Chimney Inspection: Annual inspections are an important piece of maintenance for anyone with a chimney in their home. Getting a professional’s eyes on your flue once a year ensures damages, buildup, or any other imperfections are caught early – and your household stays safer in the process.
  • Chimney Leak Repair: Water is one of the most harmful things that your chimney system can interact with, but we have ways to combat it. Trust us for waterproofing, crown repair, chimney cap installation, chase cover installation, and more.
  • Chimney Relining: If your liner is faulty, putting your system to use is very unsafe. We offer relining and liner repair options to ensure your home and chimney stay protected from heat, corrosive gases, and anything else that can break it down.
  • Masonry Repairs: Is your masonry cracked and crumbling? This isn’t only bad for your structure, but it’s an eyesore too. We offer tuckpointing, brick replacement options, rebuilds, and more.
  • Dryer Vent Cleaning: An inefficient dryer that takes multiple cycles to dry a load of laundry may have nothing to do with the appliance itself. It could be that the vents simply need some cleaning out. Trust our professionals for a job done thoroughly, correctly, and safely.

You can also book your installation services with us. We sell and install:

  • Gas Logs
  • Gas Fireplace Inserts
  • Wood Stoves
  • Central Boiler Outdoor Furnaces

Navigating which system is right for your household – as well as which fuel type is most appropriate – can be a struggle, but we’re here to walk you through the process and help you make the best decision. How Do You Inspect a Chimney Yourself?

Well… In our opinion, you don’t. It may be tempting to try inspecting your chimney yourself but without proper experience and knowledge of the chimney system, you may be putting your home at risk. Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA)-certified sweeps (like our crew) are extensively trained and know exactly what to look for in your chimney.

And remember – if you use your chimney frequently, creosote will build up and increase your risk of a chimney fire. A professional knows when creosote levels are excessive and can provide the best plan to remedy the situation. Trust Ozark for quality services and a job done right the first time.

Do I need an inspection when buying/selling a home?

When you’re buying or selling a property, it can be an exciting time. But there’s no doubt a lot of stress is involved in the process too. Hiring the right people to help you out every step of the way can make everything go a lot smoother and easier. And that means hiring the right realtor, the right home inspector, and… the right chimney company?

Many assume that their home inspector will cover it all when evaluating the home. Yet, while they technically look at the chimney and usually give it a quick scan this typically won’t involve an in-depth analysis of the chimney interior. Many buyers think their new home has been fully assessed when in reality, their chimney still needs a lot of expensive work.

Unfortunately, they’re unlikely to discover this hidden damage until the following burning season – and by then it’s too late to have the previous owners cover repair costs and to lower the price of the home. The only way to guarantee you know your chimney’s true condition prior to buying is to hire a CSIA-certified chimney sweep to perform a level 2 inspection.

What Are the Risks of Skipping Chimney Sweepings?

There are a number of toxic byproducts produced by combustion, and one of them is creosote. Creosote is a sticky, highly-combustible substance that forms when the gases from combustion combine, cool, and then adhere to the inside of the chimney liner. It occurs naturally and, with regular use, creosote and soot will build up quite a bit over time. As the buildup gets thicker, it becomes more dangerous and more prone to ignite.

Any amount of creosote can cause a problem for your fireplace, but the CSIA recommends your fireplace and chimney be cleaned when there is 1/8″ of creosote and soot. To stay on top of this, we recommend residents in our service area schedule annual inspections with the crew here at Ozark Stove & Chimney.

Are there different types of creosote?

There are three stages of creosote that can develop with a fireplace and chimney. These stages are known as Stage One, Stage Two, and Stage Three and each is used to describe how heavy the creosote buildup is, the anticipated difficulty of removing it, and what types of tools and products will need to be used during the chimney cleaning process.

What are the 3 stages of creosote?

  • Stage One: This is the earliest and easiest stage to remove as the buildup is mostly soot. At this stage, creosote is a thin, dust-like layer of coating and is relatively easy to get out of your flue. A thorough cleaning by a professional with a chimney brush can take care of Stage One creosote.
  • Stage Two: At this stage, creosote contains tar that has hardened and typically consists of hard, black flakes. Stage Two creosote is hard and it can start to restrict the airflow in your chimney, which will affect how your fires burn. Creosote at this stage can be removed, but it requires the use of more specialized tools.
  • Stage Three: Stage three creosote buildup looks like a coating of tar on the inside of your chimney, and it can easily catch on fire. At this point, creosote is the heaviest and most difficult to remove. It is possible that you may have to replace your chimney liner to completely resolve the problem.

The good news about working with us, though, is we can help you out with it all – no matter what state your chimney or fireplace is in. And that goes for more than just creosote! For any and all things chimney-related, we want you to rely on us.

Why Are Dryer Vent Cleaning Services Important?

In addition to being well-equipped to help you with all of your chimney and fireplace needs, we’d be glad to provide you with quality dryer vent cleaning services.

How often should I book this maintenance?

We recommend investing in dryer vent cleaning services on an annual basis. Why? Because failing to get this done increases your risk of experiencing fire hazards and gas leaks significantly. If lint (highly flammable lint, at that) is built up inside of your vent, heat and fumes will have no way to escape – and will enter back into your home as a result.

Every year, clogged dryer vents are responsible for multiple injuries and millions of dollars worth of home damage. Don’t become part of these statistics. Book this important maintenance with us today.

How do I know my dryer vents are clogged?

Now, if you aren’t sure if it’s been a year since your last cleaning (or if you are wondering if you need more than one cleaning per year), there are some things you can look for that are indicative of filled-up vents:

  • Your clothes aren’t drying after one cycle.
  • Your laundry room feels hot, muggy, and humid after a drying cycle.
  • You notice lint in places it shouldn’t be – like on your laundry room floor or in the dryer itself.
  • Your laundry room smells odd or musty after your dryer has run.
  • Your clothes or the appliance feel especially hot after a cycle is done.

Some homes simply need two or three cleanings per year, rather than the standard one. If you have a busy household that cycles through lots of laundry piles, or if you notice any of the above signs of a clogged vent, call us in or reach out online, and we’ll come to check things over.

Why Trust a Professional Technician for Chimney Services?

We’ve gone over the importance of all of the services we offer, and we’ve also stressed the need to only trust a professional to complete them. But let’s just reiterate just why this is the route we, along with countless other reputable organizations, always suggest when it comes to your fireplace, stove, and chimney maintenance.

  1. First and foremost – safety. Installing, working on, inspecting, and cleaning/sweeping a fireplace and chimney often involves working with gas lines, harmful buildup, and sometimes even electrical wiring, which can be dangerous if not done correctly. And, in every case, the ventilation components must be handled correctly, or you could be prone to gas leaks or fire hazards.
  2. In addition to this, many fireplace manufacturers require that their products be installed and maintained by a certified professional in order for the warranty to remain valid. Building codes and regulations should also be considered (and may vary by location), and an expert will be aware of these, ensuring the appliance and venting setup meets all necessary requirements.
  3. Then there’s efficiency to consider. A certified sweep will be able to properly assess the size of the fireplace and ventilation system to ensure that it is as energy-efficient as possible – guaranteeing you more heat and lower bills. They’ll also note if buildup or damages are hindering performance.
  4. Finally, many end up saving money when hiring a professional for their chimney, venting, and fireplace services, despite the DIY attempt being a way to potentially reduce expenses. All too often, not trusting a pro only leads to more damage or to issues getting missed, which only makes things worse down the line.

Remember that you’re dealing with something in your home that is meant to hold a literal fire. Following every precaution is a must. Get our experts on the job, so you rest easier when putting your fireplace to use.
